It lies beneath the steep slopes of the Hambleton Hills, a mile from the famous 'White Horse' of Kilburn, a shape cut into the hillside, and visible 20 miles away. Kilburn is about 6 miles from Thirsk and is easily reached by road.From the south, take the M1 and turn off on the A168 towards Thirsk (8 miles). Take the A19 towards York and after 1.5 miles, turn left through Bagby. At the top of the village, turn right to Kilburn (3 miles). |
